on a stake out in the water outside the 13th green. mallard (stokkand) mallard is the most common type of duck in norway and is staying at the bogstad lake most of the year. ey like to be around the 16th and 17th hole. great spotted woodpecker pecking on tree trunks to find different kinds of insects and acorns. at bogstad their nests are often seen between the holes 6 and 12. canada goose
(canadagås) released in norway in the 1960s. not too popular on the golf course, because of the excrements. they are staying in large and small groups near the water. barnacle goose (hvitkinngås) a bit similar to canada goose, but smaller. greylag goose (grågås) often seen on the fairways, greens and tees near the water. other types of birds that are often to be seen at bogstad: song thrush, black thrush, white wagtails, crow, magpie, wood pigeon, great tit, mute swan, owl, hooded gull, heron, goldeneye, teal and many more.
