in east baton rouge schools the east baton rouge parish school system is building the future of baton rouge?and the award-winning faculty of the fine arts department will ensure that the future is colorful and bright! ebr educators are making a conscience effort to introduce students
to the arts and nurture their unlimited creative potential. when students compliment their studies with an education in the arts, it allows them to express themselves in an inviting and safe space. students will learn team building, use critical thinking skills, develop problem solving techniques, and turn imagination into reality. not only is ebr paving the way for a future generation of artists, but it is shaping character, strengthening confidence, and introducing new opportunities at home and abroad. students will have the chance to further their arts education in places like france, england, south africa, and china. with more than 70 schools offering fine arts classes taught by over 220 talented teachers, the school system is placing a dedicated focus on the arts. join ebr as it continues to build a better and brighter future for its students by allowing them to create. twenty-one percent of low socioeconomic students in ebr who studied music scored higher in math (versus 11 percent of those who had not). by their senior year, these figures had increased to 33 percent (versus 16 percent)?suggesting a cumulative value to music education. as albert einstein said, ?art is standing with one hand extended into the universe and one hand extended into the world, and letting ourselves be a conduit for passing energy.? the arts reach students not normally reached in ways and methods not normally used. the results
