senior payton johnson has been named a 2017 youngarts national competition winner. johnson, a dancer, received the award after submitting her application, teacher references, and a portfolio of work in - cluding photos, jazz technique, and solo videos. the portfolio was evaluated by an independent panel of judges. as a win - ner, payton is now eligible to receive a scholarship, has been invited to participate in youngarts week, and is now under consideration for the presidential scholar of the arts award. ehs
