tailgating
? fall is quickly approaching, and with it comes football fans dressed in their purple and gold best and saturday nights in death valley. for a lot of people, that means spending the entire day at lsu eating jambalaya or gumbo and getting in a couple rounds of cornhole before the game starts. but when you have children, making the decision on whether or not to bring them along is at the forefront of parents? minds. while some parents prefer to call the babysitter to keep the children away from the chaos that is game day, others opt to bring the kids
along to experience the day together. we wanted to know what our readers thought about bringing kids to the tailgate, so we asked them, and the results were nearly split right down the middle! fifty-four percent of those who responded said that they bring their children along, while 46 percent said they leave them at home. those who responded ?yes? shared with us that wandering through the student union and the quad are great starters for tailgating with children in tow. when bringing the kids, no tailgating day is complete without watching the band play. the kids will enjoy the music, and the sounds will certainly get everyone into the spirit of the game. some prefer to make the most of their tailgating experience by teaming up with other families to play football, watch football on televisions they brought along, and feast on tailgating favorites. when you are planning your tailgate this football season, choose a game or two with the kids and find a perfect family spot, then choose a couple grown up games and go with your friends! download our free app at google play or in the apple app store become a facebook fan and join our discussions. search baton rouge parents magazine . to learn more about us, go to linkedin and search brparentsmag. join in the fun on pinterest and search for us, baton rouge parents magazine . let?s share our interest in all things family. follow us on twitter @brparents for the latest news, events and giveaways?infor- mation for families to live by. in every issue visit our website for local news, par- enting tips, reviews, and directories. brparents.com follow us on instagram @brparents for sneak peeks into upcoming issues and latest news. / s a y w h at ? facebook poll results yes no = 10% 54% 46% 14 brparents.com | august 2016
